Astrology is a science as old as astronomy, or perhaps older. In fact, to the Greeks, these used to be sister sciences. Given the patriarchal need for controlling the masses, it's not a big stretch of the imagination to understand how astrology was bastardized. It is indeed a legitimate tool that aids human beings in understanding our realities.
And it's powerful. So powerful that anyone wanting to claim and hoard power may not want to share.
As we enter a new paradigm and an era increasingly fraught with challenges born out of less empowered mass buy-in to industrialization, the idea of individual empowerment appears way more feasible. Specifically, we need everyone on board this human ship to wake up and get a sense of their own power so they can use their faculties to heal the planet and create a more unified community.
When you are open to astrology's ability to provide you with powerful insights about your life and the way it, and everyone else's, is involved in a tightly-orchestrated energetic dance--built on lifetimes of contracts and experiences, reflecting individual impulses, purposes, missions and natures--you get a sense of its power. It's unfortunate that a lot of people limit their understanding of this science to the "sun sign horoscopes" in the back of fashion magazines and Sunday papers. Yet many of us are working passionately to dispel this faulty assumption.
In the end, many people today are confronted with crossroads in their lives requiring explanations beyond what is traditionally considered "sound." Indeed, many people today are turning to "esoteric" modalities to address complications in their lives.
Therapists who lean back and listen, only to write a prescription for a drug company that pays them, are emerging as the new "esoterics;" it's time to empower yourself and connect deeper with others for more robust and sustainable healing experiences.
If you have read this far, and with increasing interest, it might be time for you to expand your horizons to a place right under your nose yet, to a good degree, beyond your current ability to consciously grasp.
So many gems of information within your very being are waiting to be unearthed and polished for you to realize, admire, and work mindfully with. This knowledge, about yourself, suddenly makes watching the drama of other's lives less interesting. It is suddenly possible to truly mind and master your own business when these insights avail themselves. Such is the draw of a good session with an astrologer.
Many types of astrology exist. I am particularly focused on psychological astrology--how to explore the inner world, the individual impulses in the context of one's life, past lives, location, soul group (family and close friends) and partner(s).
I enjoy, in particular, introducing people to the energies at play in their natal chart (this is the crux of our first reading). The natal chart is the blueprint--the map of the sky above, over the location on Earth, at the time one was born. This blueprint is an energetic backdrop, a foundation. From here (in subsequent readings), when a person is versed, or even before if they want specific insight into an area or circumstance, we can look at many things.
We can, for example, explore how the natal chart changes when a person moves to a different location on the planet--this is termed a geo-relocation reading. It doesn't take a move further than a time zone to invite a subtle (yet gross-level when explored consciously) shift in energetic priorities for an individual. We can also explore synergy--between an individual and their partner, family members, friends, colleagues, anyone. This is my favorite area of work, because it liberates people to understand each other many times better, in many areas of their lives. It also validates people within certain soul contract experiences (relationships).
